“Director Steve Coker's original adaptation of Kafka's urban nightmare is a work of metafictional brilliance.”
-Ben Waterhouse
Just Out Magazine- June 2006
“The strength in Steve Coker’s original translation of Franz Kafka’s still frighteningly relevant and timely classic (The Trial) is its
dark, comedic spin…”

“Steve Coker's debut comedy, Looking for Olivia, is a light, innocent farce of the sort that audiences love and "serious" artists
disdain…Looking for Olivia isn't a masterpiece, but it's damn funny… Coker's script is better than half the dreck the romantic
comedy writers in Hollywood toss out…”
-Ben Waterhouse
The Portland Tribune, Aug 25, 2006
“Playwright Steve Coker is clearly familiar with the components that make madcap romantic comedy work.”
“…Coker’s award-winning new comedy, which prompted comparisons to Neil Simon and Woody Allen at a British festival in June,
combines the best of English farce with American romantic comedy.”
-Eric Bartels
Steve Coker has written several plays ranging from comedic children's plays to full length comedies

Full Length Plays
The Trial by Steve Coker (an adaptation of Kafka's classic tale.)
Audiences will share in the confusion, insanity, and frustrations of Joseph K as he awakes one morning to find that he’s been
accused of a crime that he has no knowledge of having committed. Once a respected banker, Mr. K must now try to figure out how
to defend himself against corrupt officials, thieving officers, fast talking lawyers and the attentions of more than a few femme fatals.
The Trial is an urban nightmare that will hold your attention long after the curtain has fallen.

Looking For Olivia An American Farce by Steve Coker
Henry Thompson’s life was exactly as he had made it. Boring. Well what can you expect from a man who has steeped himself in
settling for mediocrity. A lacking career as a screen and television writer, a controlling, ex-beauty pageant girlfriend, and an
insane, irritating, and inept out-of-work-actor for a best friend aren’t helping matters either. But one night, while his girlfriend is
away, fate decides to intervene. His neighbor, the beautiful Olivia, is locked out of her apartment and Henry’s offer of help may just
change both of their lives forever. In the tradition of the English farce and the American romantic comedy, Looking For Olivia, is a
fast paced comedy of errors, full of laughter and surprises.
