11/03/07 I guess it's been a bit.
So with "Olivia" finally done, it has been sent out to a few selected theatres throughout North America. At this
point we are awaiting to hear back from these potential production sites. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

10/15/07 Sites Combined.
So we have decided to combine the Lazy Eye Films and LaBodega Production's websites. Now we will be
known as Lazy Eye Productions. That may explain the slight change you have seen on our home page.

9/12/07 "The Trial" headed for the big top?
A good friend of mine, Rob Rodger's, who has spent the past several years working in the circus and
performance art scene, has spoken to me of the possibilities of producing my Kafka adaptation of "The
Trial" as a circus piece.  Gea and I are excited about the possibilities this opens up for the play. Rob's last
piece was the successful "Habitat" featured in San Francisco last year.

8/29/07 "Olivia" Final Draft Finished.
It is finally done!  That's right...after extensive rewrites..."Looking For Olivia" is ready to hit the streets. Let's
hope we can get some interest generated and some productions mounted.

8/27/07 Heinz Deniez The Eye
Our commercial "Speed Date 57" did not get selected as a finalist, but we sure had a blast producing
piece.  There is a second contest slated to begin next month and we are deciding if we want to enter again.

8/22/07  "Olivia" Buzz.
"Looking For Olivia" has been receiving quite a bit of buzz lately. With the final draft nearing completion,
an unexpected e-mail arrived from Wales. It seems that a Wales based theatre company has read an
older draft of the play and is interested in producing it.  Add that to the potential student film, a Canadian
production, and possible interest from Chicago and LA based theatre companies...we are looking at a
bright future for this American farce.

7/25/07 Lazy Eye Creates Commercial
Lazy Eye Films has made a new commercial to enter into the Top This TV Heinz Ketchup commercial
contest.  We originally came up with about seven concepts but finally settled on one we call "Speed Date
57" (you can see it
HERE).  Heinz will select 15 fan made commercials then post them on YouTube for
voting.  The top 5 will win prizes and the number one commercial will be aired on National TV. Watch for
updates...and come vote when the time comes.

6/30/07 Reading Went Well
The "Olivia" reading went well overall. It did reveal that the current draft was a bit too long.  Another draft
is in the works and should be completed by the middle of August.  After it is finished it will be making the
journey to Canada next season to be produced at two large dinner theatre venues.  After that...sit-com?

6/27/07  Theatrical Reading of "Looking For Olivia"
On July 8th, a cast of actors will assemble at the Shoe Box Theatre in Portland, Oregon to read the newly
reworked comedy "Looking for Olivia" written by our own Steve Coker. As you may recall Steve produced
this comedy last summer with our theatrical branch,
La Bodega Productions.
After the show closed, Steve began an extensive rewrite to address issues that the workshop revealed.
It is finally ready to be heard again. If you would like to attend, please contact us at

6/3/07 "Looking For Olivia" The Movie?
Binda Singh, a playwright and founder of the Swansea Film Festival has approached us to allow him
to produce a film version of
"Olivia" in Wales sometime in the next year.  Singh wants to Anglicize the
script for UK audiences and produce the film with students.  Last year "Looking For Olivia" was
nominated for Best Play at The Swansea Film Festival as well as entered in the Dylan Thomas Center's
new play contest.

5/12/07 "On The Wrong Foot" gets a face-lift.
Last year Lazy Eye participated in the 48hr Film Festival.  A festival which challenges film makers
to create a film from top to bottom  within a 48 hour period of time. Our film was considered by many to
be one of the best films and received the Willamette Week's Pick for the festival and were the recipients
of the  Best Acting Ensemble and Audience Choice awards.  At the time of the festival we were unable
to add digital processing to age the appearance of the film and we had no score.  Even without those
elements, the film was well received.  We have since had time to finish the processing as well as add
an original musical score by Quintin Rice.  You can view the new version of the film right
here on this
web site.

5/1/07 Preproduction Begins for our first full length feature "Crackin' The Code".
We have begun to plan for our first feature, scheduled to begin shooting in June of 2008. The script
is a "coming of middle-age" comedy surrounding the lives of three friends, the places they hang out,
their past relationships, and pop culture. We are very excited about it. More to come later..
